No. As per the company, WhatsApp is not supported on rooted or custom ROM installed devices. It is because the security model of the company doesn’t suit the rooter devices and custom ROMs. Which means, they are concerned of the security of the users who use their service. So, in short, if you are using a rooted Android device, or any other platforms, you may not be able to enjoy WhatsApp.
However, there are still some rooted devices support WhatsApp.
